Committee Descriptions

 

Administration: Assists with office tasks by scheduling volunteers, reviews office procedures

 

Advertising/Publicity/Promotion: Sends out all press releases, ads, photos, etc and seek out other venues for getting the word out. Oversee marketing pieces, offering design expertise. Researches programming to develop methods of improvement for continued growth.

 

Education: Helps develop and teach the class offerings: Spring, Summer and Fall. Oversees the Try-Its (Brownie badge program) and Birthday parties

Education/Touring: Oversees the touring company - 2 meetings/mailings per year.

 

Fund Raising: Event related generation of income: Winter Carnival, Basket Bingo, Yard Sale, Giant & Weis Cards, NYC Bus Trips, Costume Sales

 

Human Resources: Keeps employee handbook updated, researches compensation options and makes recommendations, heads up staffing searches, assists with staff evaluations

 

Membership/Volunteer/Special Events: Assists with membership appeals to each cast/crew, and membership mailing pieces. Plans the annual membership Dream Picnic in September and the Birthday party in January. Helps to round up volunteers where needed. Oversees special events such as York Fest booth or other community opportunities.

 

Production: Meets 5 to 6 times per year and reviews show management from the office end of things: seating, ticketing, producer training, etc.

Production/Play Reading: Reads and discusses a selection of plays each year and puts together 2 slates of Season Shows for the membership to vote on.

 

Site: Assists with building related work, advises on repairs needed, and oversees work days.

Long Range Planning: Assists with administering the nominations and elections for the board. Helps find committee chairs and members. Oversees strategic planning and by law reviews. Reviews board assessment, development and leadership.

 

Financial Development: Helps with obtaining sponsorships for shows, asking for general donations, brainstorming ways to bring in the dollars

Program Ads: Once a year push to sell advertising in season programs.

 

Finance: Reviews the monthly financial statements and keeps the board informed, makes recommendations on accounting issues, practices and ways to use money effectively.
