Education

We offer a wide variety of educational opportunities for people of all ages. Our Spring and Fall classes give students an opportunity to learn and experience different aspects of theatre in just four, Saturday classes.

During the summer months our building fills with excited campers learning about all facets of theatre productions. Campers can choose from a long list of camps including our most popular "Creativity Camps". In these camps students are given the opportunity to explore the fundamentals of theatre. These camps include but are not limited to: character development, projection, movement, playwriting and stage presence. Among the many other camps that are offered are choices including: crafting, puppet-making, balloon twisting, and magic. Our Jr. Production camps offer younger campers the opportunity to stage a production of our popular show "Rupert Meets Mrs. Tales." Older teens will enjoy the challenge of putting together a one-act show in just one week, during our Production Camp. For those campers with a love of history, we offer "Step Back in Time", a camp in which the children spend a week learning about the Renaissance.

Along with our camps and classes we also offer educational opportunities for girls who participate in the Girl Scout Brownies Try-It program. We currently offer three workshops, "Let's Pretend", "Paula's Puppets" and "Stitch it Together". These workshops meet the requirements for Brownies to receive their Try-It badges in these areas. Brownie troops schedule an evening by calling the theatre and then let our knowledgeable education committee members share their talents with the girls, all while earning their Try-It badges.

DreamWrights strives to provide quality educational opportunities covering a broad spectrum of theatre disciplines and knowledge. The students who attend our classes, workshops, camps or Try-Its, not only learn about theatre, they also learn the value of cooperation and teamwork. They also discover the pride and excitement that is gained when an actor entertains an audience.
